University of Sydney

Position: Full time, fixed term for 2 years starting 1 March 2018 (or thereafter)
Closing date: 11.30pm 29 January 2018 (Sydney Time)

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position on the project "A geometric theory for non-standard relaxation oscillators" which has recently been funded by the Australian Research Council. The aim of this project is to develop a comprehensive theory for multi-scale problems with non-uniform scale splitting within the framework of geometric singular perturbation theory and, hence, provide a firm theoretical foundation for the creation of biological pattern formation in non-standard multi-scale problems which have, to a substantial degree, been intractable. This project will be supervised by Martin Wechselberger (University of Sydney), a member of the Sydney Dynamics Group.
