The image is a visualization of the invariant SRB measure of a chaotic torus map. If we regard the torus as the plane modulo of a rectangular lattice, we can lift the image to the plane and so form a repeating patter. We show a portion of the repeating pattern in the image. The colors reflect the density of the invariant measure on the attractor.
