DSWeb Dynamical Systems Software aims to collect all available software on dynamical systems theory. This project was originally launched during the special year Emerging Applications of Dynamical Systems, 1997/1998, at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications. The information here includes functionality, platforms, languages, references, and contacts.

Encyclopedia of Dynamical Systems

All SIAM members are invited to participate in the election of authors for the Encyclopedia of Dynamical Systems, which is hosted by scholarpedia.org - the free peer-reviewed encyclopedia.

Scholarpedia is a synthesis of Encyclopedia Britannica and Wikipedia. It feels and looks like Wikipedia, with the exception that

  • Each article is written by an expert.
  • Each article is anonymously peer reviewed to ensure accurate and reliable information.
  • Each article has a curator - typically its author -- who is responsible for its content. Any modification of the article needs to be approved by the curator before it appears in the final, approved version.

Currently, Scholarpedia hosts Encyclopedia of Computational Neuroscience, Encyclopedia of Dynamical Systems, and Encyclopedia of Computational Intelligence. All will be published in a printed form.

A unique feature of Scholarpedia is that its authors are either invited by the editor-in-chief or elected by the public - you. Public election of authors ensures fairness in assigning articles to the corresponding experts in each field. You are invited to register as a 'Scholar' using the invitation key 'SIAG'. This would allow you to vote for authors, nominate people for articles, and even initiate election for new articles. Self-nominations are welcomed.

Among confirmed participants are Ermentrout, Fenichel, FitzHugh, Ginzburg, Haken, Hirsch, Kopell, Kuramoto, Lorenz, Mandelbrot, Ott, Palis, Rossler, Sharkovsky, Shilnikov, Shub, Smale, and dozens of others.
