DSWeb Dynamical Systems Software aims to collect all available software on dynamical systems theory. This project was originally launched during the special year Emerging Applications of Dynamical Systems, 1997/1998, at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications. The information here includes functionality, platforms, languages, references, and contacts.

Bifurcations inDynamical Systems with Applications

May 19-21, Wolf-Jürgen Beyn and Thorsten Hüls organized a workshop in Bielefeld, Germany, that brought together about 50 participants with an interest in computational methods for dynamical systems and applications. Peter Kloeden (Frankfurt) reports for DSWeb Magazine.

Biomathematics at the Federal University of Sao Paulo

Fernando Antoneli is Professor in the Laboratory of Evolutionary Genomics and Biocomplexity at the Federal University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. At this year's Snowbird meeting, he gave a talk in a session on coupled cell networks and he is working on various aspects of synchronization and pattern formation on coupled dynamical systems. We invited him to write about academic life and dynamical systems in Sao Paulo.

Books available for review

We have twenty books in stock (on the shelf of our book reviews editor) ready to be sent for your review. If you would like to review one or more of these titles, please send an e-mail to the book reviews editor. We will send you a complimentary copy.

We are sad to announce that Charles Morgan, editor of the Book Reviews section, has to resign in order to tend to his duties as the Department Chair of Mathematics at Lock Haven University. We thank him for his valuable contribution to the magazine. Also, we invite expressions of interest to take over from him. Please contact Jens Rademacher with inquiries.
