Congratulations to the 2023 SIAM Fellows (https://www.siam.org/prizes-recognition/fellows-program/all-siam-fellows/class-of-2023)! We would like to acknowledge those in particular who have connections to the SIAM Dynamical Systems Activity Group:

Aric Hagberg, Los Alamos National Laboratory - https://aric.hagberg.org/

Aric is the Deputy Leader of the Computer, Computational, and Statistical Sciences Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Following his PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Arizona, he joined Los Alamos National Laboratory as an Applied Mathematician. He has served as Deputy Director for the Center for Nonlinear Studies and Deputy Division Leader for the Theoretical Division prior to his current position. He also worked as a Senior Software Engineer for Cable & Wireless Worldwide. He is being recognized for his contributions to network science, dynamical systems, and dedicated service to the scientific community.

James Meiss, University of Colorado Boulder - https://amath.colorado.edu/faculty/jdm/

Jim is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder. Since receiving his PhD in Physics from the University of California Berkeley in 1980, he worked at the Institute for Fusion Studies at the University of Texas before becoming a founding member of the Applied Mathematics department at University of Colorado Boulder in 1989. He has contributed to the field’s understanding of the onset of chaos and transport in Hamiltonian and volume-preserving dynamical systems. Jim has also long been a very active member of the SIAM DS community, as an organizer of the 1995 SIAM DS Conference, early editor of SIADS, and long-time contributor of “Recent Books” and other articles in DSWeb.
