Floris Takens is famous for his work on bifurcation theory, strange attractors and the nature of turbulence. Bernd Krauskopf interviewed Floris on the occasion of a special ceremony conducted at the University of Groningen where a painted portrait of Floris Takens was unveiled. On this same day Floris was knighted for his important contributions to the scientific life of the Netherlands and beyond.
