Cornell University provides interdisciplinary graduate training in nonlinear systems with support from the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program of the National Science Foundation.

Knight Floris Takens

Floris Takens is famous for his work on bifurcation theory, strange attractors and the nature of turbulence. Bernd Krauskopf interviewed Floris on the occasion of a special ceremony conducted at the University of Groningen where a painted portrait of Floris Takens was unveiled. On this same day Floris was knighted for his important contributions to the scientific life of the Netherlands and beyond.
